This whole global economic crisis, and its resulting massive loss of jobs got us thinking. We here at Engadget didn't want to stand helplessly by, announcing every new round of misery without giving anything back -- so we decided to take the opportunity to spread a little positivity. We'll be handing out a new gadget every day (except for weekends) to lucky readers until we run out of stuff or companies stop sending things. Today we've got a Transformers Bumblebee Nintendo DS Starter Kit, which includes a protective Nintendo DS Lite Armor sleeve and universal stylus. Microsoft's hooked us up with 100 special pre-order codes for Windows 7, which are good for a 48-hour period starting tomorrow, June 26th, 2009. These codes (only available to U.S. residents) will guarantee you a pre-order of Windows 7 at the discounted prices of $49.99 for Home Premium and $99.99 for Professional, even if it sells out -- and it might, as it's a limited run!

Listen,
E3, we had some good times. We shook like maniacs for your
motion controllers. We jammed with
the band (and our
resident DJ, Stab Master Arson). We
skated all over the place. We
liveblogged like crazy. We basically took your news flow and funneled it into a succinct package of mind-blowing media snacks. But that was then, and this is now. We had to hightail it out of town, because a certain someone needs our special brand of tenderness... and that certain someone is Apple's WWDC in San Francisco. We'll miss you E3, but only a little bit.
Seriously guys, gear up for WWDC this coming Monday (
June 8th), where some kind of new phone or something might get announced.
